Mox Emerald in 30th Anniversary Edition is a collector-grade reproduction of one of Magic's most iconic artifacts. The 30th Anniversary Edition was a limited run printed to commemorate Magic's three-decade milestone, reprinting Power Nine and other Alpha and Beta staples with a distinct alternate card back that renders them ineligible for sanctioned tournament play. Because these cards cannot legally enter competitive formats, demand is pure collector interest rather than player demand. The Emerald has historically ranked below Mox Sapphire and Black Lotus in the original Power Nine desirability hierarchy, and that relative positioning carries into this printing.
