Cavern of Souls Price

Updated 2026-10-09

Cavern of Souls from Avacyn Restored is one of the most important lands in competitive Magic, providing both mana fixing and counterspell protection for creature-based strategies. Its ability to make creatures of a chosen type uncounterable has made it a staple in Legacy tribal strategies and Modern creature decks that need protection from blue interaction. Avacyn Restored's original printing of Cavern of Souls has received significant reprints, but the original version retains a collector premium among players and collectors who value first-print copies. This is a demand-floor card: competitive relevance in two major formats ensures consistent player demand that provides a lasting price support level. Tribal strategies in Commander also consume Cavern of Souls copies, adding a third format dimension to its demand base. Track Legacy and Modern tournament results, particularly results for the Merfolk, Humans, and Death and Taxes archetypes that most consistently run this card.
