Render Silent from Dragon's Maze is a counterspell that also prevents the controller of the countered spell from casting spells for the rest of the turn, making it a tempo piece beyond pure denial. The effect is uniquely punishing in Commander, where it can shut down a player who taps out for a big spell or tries to chain spells in sequence. The 90-day move is the main story, a sustained drift upward, and the 7-day and 30-day figures show the climb is continuing. Dragon's Maze is a small set from 2013 with limited print runs, and its rares do not appear frequently on the secondary market in top condition.
