Necropotence in From the Vault: Exiled has declined meaningfully over the past month, and the correction deserves context. From the Vault: Exiled is a prestige foil product from 2009, and Necropotence is among its anchor cards as one of Magic's most notoriously powerful draw engines. The card exchanges life for cards at an aggressive rate, and it has been banned across Legacy and restricted in Vintage, limiting competitive demand to the formats where it is legal. The FTV foil treatment has aged relative to more modern premium frames, which partially explains declining preference for this version compared to newer printings. Collector demand remains real from FTV set completionists, but the premium this version once commanded over non-foil copies has compressed. The thirty-day decline points to that compression continuing rather than stabilizing.
