Stifle is a one-mana blue instant that counters an activated or triggered ability, a narrow but devastating effect in Legacy and Vintage where it can counter shuffle triggers from fetch lands, nullify combo enablers, and stop opponent responses. The Judge Promo version was distributed to certified Magic judges through Wizards of the Coast's Judge Program, a closed distribution channel that awards promos only to judges who earn specific rewards. Judge Promos are never sold at retail, making their supply permanently fixed at the number distributed during the award window. Over the trailing seven and thirty days, price has moved up steadily, consistent with Legacy metagame interest in Stifle as a counterbalance to fetch land-heavy strategies. Stifle is not legal in Modern, keeping demand concentrated in Legacy, Vintage, and the Judge Promo collector community. Supply is irreplaceable through normal retail channels.
