Jace's Archivist Price

Updated 2026-09-12

Jace's Archivist from Magic 2012 is a wizard that allows each player to discard their hand and draw that many cards, enabling wheel effects in decks that want to cycle through card disadvantage or fill an opponent's graveyard. The card is a core inclusion in Nekusar and wheel-themed Commander strategies, where recurring activation with untap effects creates a game-ending loop. Seven-day and 30-day figures are identical, marking a step-change in price that has held, while the 90-day figure shows the current level is above the prior baseline. M12 rares from 2011 have moderate supply but are not being actively reprinted in the original frame. Wheel Commander archetypes are perennially popular and the archivist's wizard creature type allows it to be tutored in strategies that care about that subtype. Reprint risk exists but the functional niche is narrow enough that demand tends to recover. Watch for any new Nekusar-style Commander release.
