Chandra, Torch of Defiance (SDCC 2017 Exclusive) Price

Updated 2026-09-14

Chandra, Torch of Defiance in the SDCC 2017 Exclusive treatment is one of the most recognized event-exclusive Planeswalker promos in the Magic hobby, and it is showing consistent positive price movement across the weekly, monthly, and 90-day horizons. San Diego Comic-Con exclusives were distributed in extremely limited quantities through convention attendance, making these among the hardest-to-source promos in the game. The 2017 SDCC cycle featured an iconic Planeswalker lineup with distinctive alternate art, and Chandra as a character has one of the deepest fan followings in the MTG community. The steady appreciation gradient with the 30-day rate outpacing the weekly rate suggests the bid is building rather than plateauing. Collector demand for SDCC exclusives is driven by convention nostalgia and art-collection mentality rather than competitive playability, which insulates this from format bans. Monitor SDCC promo market activity broadly as the leading indicator for where this specific card is heading.
