Counterspell (Future Sight) Price
MARKET NOTE: COUNTERSPELL (FUTURE SIGHT)
Updated 2026-09-14
Counterspell in the Future Sight frame treatment, appearing in Mystery Booster 2, is showing consistent negative price movement across all measured windows. Mystery Booster 2 was a wide-distribution product designed specifically to inject supply of staple cards into the market, and its Counterspell carries a novelty in the form of the Future Sight frame, but the set's distribution mechanics mean this version has broad retail availability. Counterspell has been reprinted extensively, most recently into Commander and Commander Masters, which has structurally depressed the floor for all non-premium copies. The convergence of nearly identical weekly and monthly losses against a slightly larger 90-day decline suggests selling pressure has been present for several months without reversal. Future Sight frame treatment provides some collector differentiation, but not enough to overcome the supply narrative. The investment case depends on whether the Future Sight aesthetic develops a dedicated collector premium over a longer time horizon.
