Prerelease foils are distributed to players who attend prerelease events before a set's official launch, creating a supply ceiling fixed by prerelease attendance and never supplemented by booster pack pulls. Shadowspear gives the equipped creature trample and lifelink, and pays one mana to strip hexproof and indestructible from all opponent permanents: that second ability makes it the surgical answer for dealing with otherwise untouchable threats in a format where indestructible and hexproof commanders are common.
