MARKET NOTE: DEMONIC CONSULTATION (HALO FOIL)

Updated 2026-08-05

Demonic Consultation is a black instant from Ice Age that names a card and then exiles the top six cards plus all copies of the named card found, effectively functioning as a library exile spell when the named card is not in the deck. In competitive Commander and Vintage, it pairs with Thassa's Oracle as a win condition requiring only a single turn: consulting for a card not in the deck exiles the entire library, and Thassa's Oracle wins the game on an empty library. The Halo Foil treatment from the Secret Lair Countdown Kit is a premium foil style with a distinct rainbow shimmer pattern. The past month shows marginal positive appreciation, consistent with sustained demand for the premium version of one of the most efficient win conditions in competitive Commander. At this price, the Halo Foil treatment carries a collector premium over standard copies.
