Professor Onyx (Borderless) Price

Updated 2026-09-05

Professor Onyx (Borderless) is the full-art premium treatment of Liliana, Waker of the Dead in her Strixhaven academic disguise, and it has been on a consistent upward trend across both the past month and the past quarter. The quarterly appreciation is particularly notable, indicating the market has been steadily acquiring this version rather than simply bouncing. Professor Onyx functions as a Liliana planeswalker with discard-focused abilities and a kill-spell loyalty plus, making her a natural fit in black Commander builds that operate through hand disruption and attrition. The Borderless Strixhaven treatment is a version-specific print with no equivalent reprint risk in that frame, giving collectors a hard supply ceiling. Liliana as a character commands one of the largest planeswalker collector followings in Magic, which sustains demand independent of format playability. The sustained appreciation across both timeframes suggests the NM float for this version is contracting. Watch for any Liliana-themed Secret Lair that could redirect demand.
