Trickbind Price

Updated 2026-08-16

Trickbind from Time Spiral is a two-mana Split Second counterspell that targets activated and triggered abilities, bypassing nearly every form of interaction because Split Second prevents any responses while it is on the stack. That mechanic makes it uniquely effective against combo decks relying on ability resolution: Aether Vial activations, fetchland triggers, and planeswalker ultimates all fall within its targeting range. Time Spiral is one of the mechanically richest sets in Magic history, and Trickbind occupies a top utility slot within that set. Price has been essentially stable with marginal softening over the 30-day window, consistent with a long-established utility card rather than an actively speculated one. The buyer here is a competitive Legacy or Vintage player, or a Commander player building dedicated interaction packages. No dedicated reprint has occurred despite persistent Legacy demand. The Split Second clause remains categorically irreplaceable by any alternative counterspell.
