Nicol Bolas in his Timeshifted printing from Time Spiral is one of the most distinctive collector copies of Magic's most iconic villain. The Timeshifted treatment applies the old card frame in purple rarity, a designation used exclusively for this subset of Time Spiral, making every Timeshifted card a unique frame artifact within the broader set. The original Nicol Bolas Elder Dragon legend is central to Magic lore, and the character has anchored storylines across multiple major sets through the game's modern era. Collectors who build iconic-character showcases or pursue older frame treatments treat this printing as a required acquisition. The card has no meaningful current competitive application, but its lore significance establishes a collector demand floor that is independent of format context. Near-mint Timeshifted copies are more condition-sensitive than average due to age and handling typical of a 2006 release. Set collectors and lore completists are the active buyer segment here.
