Counterbalance from Coldsnap is one of Legacy's most powerful lock pieces, a two-mana blue enchantment that can counter target spells by revealing the top card of your library when it shares a converted mana cost. Combined with Sensei's Divining Top, it formed the Counterbalance-Top lock that was dominant in Legacy for years until Top was banned in that format. The card sees ongoing Legacy play even without the combo, and it has utility in Commander as a soft counter piece. Coldsnap was a standalone winter set with a modest print run, and original Near Mint Uncommon copies have thinned through decades of play. The seven-day and thirty-day windows show no price movement, consistent with a card in equilibrium between consistent Legacy player demand and a fixed supply. The Legacy ban removed the most explosive demand catalyst, but base functional demand remains solid.
