Preordain Price
MARKET NOTE: PREORDAIN
Updated 2026-09-05
Preordain from Magic 2011 is a blue sorcery that scrys two then draws a card, one of the most efficient cantrips in Modern and Legacy despite being banned in Pioneer for being too powerful. The M11 core set printing is the most widely available version of the card, and price action across the past month shows no directional movement, consistent with a card where abundant supply from multiple printings has reached equilibrium with steady format demand. Preordain is legal and heavily played in Modern blue decks that want reliable library manipulation at low mana cost. Legacy Delver and blue tempo lists also run copies. The absence of a short-term price signal here is a function of broad supply from the M11 print run combined with steady but not accelerating format demand. Watch for any Pioneer ban change: a return to legality there would be the most significant price catalyst for any Preordain printing.
