Misdirection Price
MARKET NOTE: MISDIRECTION
Updated 2026-07-02
Misdirection in Mercadian Masques has been one of the more surprising gainers in the vintage Magic singles market. Over the past 30 days it has gained roughly 75 percent. The driver is demand from Legacy combo and control players who value it as a free counterspell alternative: Misdirection can redirect a spell targeting a permanent or player at no mana cost by bouncing a blue card from hand. With Force of Will commanding premium prices and some combo shells looking for backup free interaction, Misdirection at lower entry price points has attracted fresh attention. Supply in near-mint condition is not deep despite the Masques print run being relatively large. Condition-sensitive copies in true near-mint are always thinner than the raw print run implies. The 7-day window shows no additional move, suggesting the 30-day gain has settled into the bid rather than continuing to run. Watch Legacy metagame reports and tournament results for sustained demand.
