New Frontiers is a green sorcery from Odyssey that lets each player search their library for up to X basic land cards and put them onto the battlefield tapped, where X is the mana paid for it. In Commander, this effect creates accelerated ramp opportunities proportional to mana investment, with the symmetrical nature limiting solo combos but enabling accelerated game states for the table. The Odyssey printing is the only version of this card, making supply fixed at the original 2001 print run. Odyssey sets were printed at lower quantities than modern Magic sets, and rare sorceries with group ramp effects are a consistent Commander demand driver. New Frontiers has never received a significant reprint, keeping original copies the only option. Collector demand comes from Odyssey set completionists; player demand comes from Commander pilots focused on land-based acceleration strategies.
