Foil from Prophecy is a free counterspell with an alternative casting cost that requires discarding an island and two other cards rather than paying the three-mana hardcast cost. The effect is directly comparable to Force of Will but with a steeper discard requirement, making it a legitimate competitive counterspell in formats that value free interaction. Prophecy was a small set in the Masques block with a limited print run relative to the era's demand. The card sees niche Legacy play in blue decks that run the full suite of free counterspells, and it sees occasional Commander use. Price data shows flat movement in the observed window. The Prophecy printing is the original and primary tournament-legal version of this card. Supply is thinning as Masques-block sets age out of the bulk market, and NM copies of Prophecy uncommons are increasingly difficult to source at this end of the condition spectrum.
