Kresh the Bloodbraided Price

Updated 2026-09-21

Kresh the Bloodbraided from Shards of Alara is a mythic rare Commander identity card at the center of Jund, the color combination that defined competitive Magic during the 2008-2009 Standard era. As a Commander, Kresh rewards sacrifice and creature-heavy strategies, growing to threatening power levels quickly in formats where removal is constant. The original Shards of Alara printing carries both mythic rarity and the nostalgic premium associated with a block that left a lasting mark on how players understand mid-range Magic. The 90-day price trajectory has shown meaningful appreciation, suggesting either a format rediscovery moment or collector-side demand absorbing available supply. Reprint risk is present but measured: Kresh has appeared infrequently in supplemental products, and a premium alternate-art treatment would likely split rather than compress the original printing's collector value. This is a nostalgia-driven card with a real Commander upside component.
