Shivan Dragon (Retro Frame) Price

Updated 2026-09-23

Shivan Dragon in its Retro Frame version from the 30th Anniversary Promos is one of the most historically significant collectible treatments in Magic, a promotional version of the iconic fire-breathing dragon that defined the game from 1993 onward. The 30th Anniversary promo program placed these copies in a collector tier that blends nostalgia value with limited supply from the original event distribution window. Near-mint promotional Shivan Dragon copies command premium pricing because they connect directly to the game at its founding. The 30-day price line shows a modest downward move, consistent with mild supply normalization after the anniversary event period closed. The collector floor for this card is well established by the cultural weight of the character across Magic history. A patient hold for current owners rather than an active buy at current levels given the softening trend.
