Surprise Deployment Price

Updated 2026-10-11

Surprise Deployment from Planeshift is an instant that puts a creature card directly from your hand onto the battlefield at end of an opponent's turn, functioning as an early flash mechanic predating the keyword. The effect allows combat tricks and threat development that was unusual for the Invasion block era and that retains niche utility in Commander builds emphasizing instant-speed plays. The Planeshift printing is the only source for this card, a supply constraint that becomes relevant when Commander players seek copies and the card gains renewed attention from synergy discovery. Price data shows the 7-day and 30-day figures arriving at the same gain, meaning the appreciation occurred within the most recent week. The 90-day figure runs slightly above the 30-day, pointing to modest earlier movement preceding the recent concentrated gain. At current pricing this represents a notable premium for a Planeshift Uncommon.
