Swamp (B) Price
MARKET NOTE: SWAMP (B)
Updated 2026-07-06
Summer Magic basic lands are among the rarest collectibles in the trading card game market. The Summer Magic run from 1994 was a corrected version of Revised Edition, but distribution was halted almost immediately when color errors were detected across the set. The resulting print run is among the smallest of any officially released Magic set, and every card from it carries a scarcity premium irrespective of gameplay function. The Summer Magic Swamp carries no competitive play demand; its value is purely provenance-based, tied to the history of one of Magic's most notable production accidents. Condition is the central variable for pricing: genuine near-mint Summer Magic cards require authentication through careful comparison with known legitimate examples, examining color saturation and rosette pattern details. Most holdings are long-term collector positions with infrequent turnover. No short-term price movement is reported. Valuation reflects stable collector consensus on an irreplaceable historical artifact.
